Ok, I'll read that as 'probably not in version 5 then' :-)<br><br>I don't mind, just means one more step in 'how to setup the BRMS' instructions.<br><br>Paul<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 1:05 PM, Mark Proctor <<a href="mailto:mproctor@codehaus.org">mproctor@codehaus.org</a>> wrote:<br>

Happen to be writing the part of the guide (!) on how to setup the BRMS
/ Guvnor. Aimed at end users (Excel people) so the fewer steps the
better.i.e. 'Install Java and BRMS standalone' is going to be much
easier to explain than 'install Java-JBossWeb-BRMS' - one less thing to
go wrong.<br>
<br>
I know there was a version available previously that had to be taken
down (<a href="http://blog.athico.com/2007/07/jboss-drools-brms-standalone.html" target="_blank">http://blog.athico.com/2007/07/jboss-drools-brms-standalone.html</a>).
Are there any plans to restore it in version 5? I don't see any open
items for it on the Drools / Guvnor JIRA ....<br>

IT depends on time and resources, or if someone in the community wants
to do it. We had problems with the last one, so disabled it. If someone
can make a more bullet proof version, we can put it back in.<br>

I've no problems in explaining the full setup, but if we're likely to
have the more simple option soon then I'd prefer to talk about that.
Just to wind up Mark, even jBPM has had a standalone option for the
last 18 months or so :-)<br>

Thanks<br>
