Ability to abbreviate messages' key

In large project, the messages' key can be quite verbose. I notice in wiki example, the key can be "lacewiki.button.userList.CreateAccount.accesskey", in a page which is full of unicode, I can imagine how messed up the whole page can be. 
For a quick workaround I override "messages" component so that I can speficify in which page how I can abbreviate the key.  I hope seam can do something useful to make it more integral and easier to configure.
