Support for GWT 1.4 has now been implemented in CVS, and the example app updated.  Default support is for GWT 1.4, however GWT 1.3 can still be used by enabling it in components.xml by adding this line:

  <component class="org.jboss.seam.remoting.gwt.GWT13Service"/>
