seam-gen generated code allows editing of dates only in MM/dd/yyyy format. That is because this is hardcoded in the file editproperty.xhtml.ftl. This should be picked up from user's locale.

On the other hand, the List.xhtml pages dont deal with any formatting at all. Hence, the dates are displayed in yyyy-MM-dd format. Again, there needs to be some logic here that would detect the field type and do appropriate formatting.
