I tested this scenario and found no problems. Could you be more specific about what isn't working.

./seam new-form
component name: form
class name: Form
method name: submit
page name: form

Enter "foobar" into the form field and press submit I get the following message

submit foobar

I tested with both the RichFaces and ICEfaces seam-gen.
