Workaround: The referenced forum thread includes all the code for a ConfigurableSynchronizationInterceptor class that reads its timeout from components.xml. This class is extremely similar to SynchronizationInterceptor, and therefore it should be easy to replace the adjust implementation of SynchronizationInterceptor so that it reads its configuration instead of using a hardcoded one
