Van Halbert commented on TEIID-464:
-----------------------------------

The use of setting any host specific property (i.e., $MMCONFIGNAME) in scripts is not possible in a shared environment, unless their both using the same configuration. Because shared scripts would all point to the same config file (unless you create multiple script files - ugly)

And just a note, now that there will be additional kits (ODBC, MMR) to install, the hosts directory location will probably come into play. Like for odbc, the user will need provide (browse) the hosts/<configname> directory for this server so that the MMODBC.ini file can be correctly placed. Not sure at this point if MMR has any host dependencies. However, logging always seems to be one issue.

> We need to decide if/how we're going to support the shared
> installation option. With the changes to what's stored in the
> metamatrix.properties (i.e., host properties and config.name), this
> now complicates how we'll install (i.e., system host setup and odbc) /
> support this feature.
