it's not about the updating, its about exposing the connector bindings (similiar to "get" methods) to the client so that the client can (if it choses to) update the binding.   As stated in the description, the current methods provide the bindings  in the context of the host/vm (from the registry) that it resides.   The client app shouldn't have to wade thru the list to get a unique set to manage.   And there are other issues with how the current methods work, but aren't worth mentioning, because the current methods don't work for managing the unique set of bindings for the system.
