I think you're confusing 2 concepts which require seperate methods, and they are:   

-  Monitoring:  the current getConnectorBindings method returns bindings based on the registry (host / vm context) and used for monitoring the state of the binding.   For which a connector binding will be returned "n" number of times that it running on ''n" number of vms.
-  Configuration:  the new methods will return the set of ConnectorBindings that have been defined for the whole system.   This is the set that is often seen on the Connector BIndings panel in the console.
