Ramesh Reddy commented on TEIID-1011:
-------------------------------------

The current direction of the Mondrian project and some other OLAP vendors is to use http://www.olap4j.org/ which is also very much looks similar to jdbc4olap library. However I still need to see how these can grab the star schema metadata. These both drivers only take "MDX" as the query, so the Teiid translator must be smart enough to convert the SQL coming in into the MDX query before it can submit to the Mondrian engine.

So, it seems to be much more involved and needs considerable time to develop this with out good knowledge of Mondrian and OLAP, MDX. I would like to know what was the intended usecase with this JIRA.
