Due to the introduction of the teiid spi, Designer forks the release branches of teiid and includes the client bits as sub-modules in the codebase. Each branch is converted to an OSGI plugin with maven adding the 3rd-party libraries.

The 8.3 plugin can be viewed [here|https://github.com/Teiid-Designer/teiid/tree/8.3.x] and may help in converting the teiid embedded server to an OSGI plugin.
