This seems more like a question than a bug, unless you have determined that your clients are no longer attached.  Perhaps you have pooling configured.

Unlike JDBC there is no ping mechanism for the ODBC connections since they are 1-1 with their client.  There is the session property sessions-expiration-timelimit to define a max session age, but by default it's unlimited.
