We should at some point cut the new features coming into 1.0.x and focus them to 1.1 instead.

That way, 1.0.x will stay open for bug fixes / stabilization efforts.

If there will be requirements to backport some limited feature from 1.1 to 1.0.x, we can still do that,

but default should be 1.1.
