The one thing I noted was a way to explain the different Push "Styles"
when to use some form of "real-time" as demonstrated via Ag's SimplePush & Vert.x EventBus

WebSocket usually is good for ... yeah :-) Stock-tickers, games (latency kills) etc - where you really need the info ASAP.

Mobile Push, like APNS/GCM, is a nice way to send notes, that eventually arrive at the customer (Gate change for your flight to Ibiza). basically anything that is not critical;
(especially since the big players give ZERO guarantee they actual deliver the payload :-))

I have at least 2 more opportunities to run this particular presentation in the next few months.

Awesome! Where ?

Overall, there were very few people in my audience that had started thinking about mobile development.

that's typical for most 'enterprise conferences'

But glad it worked out for you, at Devoxx :-))

The actual live demo went perfectly.

I also showed off the Cordova Tooling that was updated last week with JBoss Tools & JBDS.

And some cool Vert.x videos.
