WebSocket usually is good for ... yeah :-) Stock-tickers, games (latency kills) etc - where you really need the info ASAP.

Mobile Push, like APNS/GCM, is a nice way to send notes, that eventually arrive at the customer (Gate change for your flight to Ibiza). basically anything that is not critical;
(especially since the big players give ZERO guarantee they actual deliver the payload :-))
