One question i have after the investigation: are the Metrics static or do we want to allow users to define their own Metrics? Because that would involve changing the fluentd configuration.

We're going to have to allow that but that's something we can just bear in mind for now as it is low priority.

Perhaps there's a way to generalize the config. I don't know if you looked at something like that.
