I have run master and haven't been redirected - however, I am going to link this ticket with 3296 as I am not completely satisfied that they are not related. I think the initial redirect might be caused by the fact the app calls auth.init on bootup and if this is the case then it will need to wait to be verified with the fix for that ticket.
