simple test is good start

instead of adding all the JAX-RS module, perhaps we can have a new maven module that more focuses around Kafka/messaging. That can be done later...

For now, all of the initial groundwork, and setup is really good. So a few simple tests are good now

later we want to mimic some functionality, e.g. test that a consumer actually hits the database
