As stated in https://github.com/lemurheavy/coveralls-public/issues/1018#issuecomment-402769227, setting up COVERALLS_REPO_TOKEN as an env var fixes this issue.
I gave it 5 runs and all tests passed: https://circleci.com/gh/aerogear/data-sync-server/501 (jobs 490 - 501)
