It will ensure that the minimal quantity of pods to ensure the service is running. Is not 2 the minimal quantity? See that we should have an alert in the case of for example just 1 pod, the operator one, be running. It will alert the SRE in order to allow them to verify why the minimal required to have the service up and running is not accomplished.
Also, note that has a specific alert for the operator pod already (https://github.com/aerogear/mobile-developer-console-operator/blob/effd1558fcbaf100c93e72e365143ee6a134edda/deploy/monitor/prometheus_rule.yaml#L14).
So, IMHO it should be closed as explained unless the minimal quantity expected is NOT 2. Is it make sense for you?
PS.: It is done as it was done for the operators as well.
