if my video would actually play for you (screencast is horribly slow, even here in the US), what you should see (from my memory now) is that the callback for the notification in JS, is NOT called when the device is on its lock screen or when the app is in the background. The app does come back to the foreground when the user taps the notification but the callback does not seem to fire.
