| Conversation with Gerard Ryan """ Summers Pittman Basically I am wondering 1) Is this something we should do? 2) Should we do it soon™? 3) If we do it, do we know is this a big work or small work? Ger So, it's definitely something that you can do, but there are some caveats the main one is that the CRDs that the new versions of the operator-sdk generate are not installable on openshift v3.11 Leaving the operator-sdk to one side, I think it's expected that you'll have the same version of UPS on RHMI 1.x and 2.x; so unless you want more work, I'd stick to the same operator on both also. There are a few options You could have a make target that just fixes the CRDs to be usable on both after they're generated or you could force the older version of the operator-sdk for CRD generation or you could just not bother updating the operator-sdk for the moment """ It seems like there's some extra work involved with making the operator-sdk build perfect with OS 3.x and OS 4.x so we won't be doing this at this time. I'm saving this issue for the future. |
