Things are changing with this depending on how cordova application is hosted is user using debug or release version of the app so I guess is easier to just provide not to user to validate this urls first and do not blindly trust documentation.

Having such long list of the localhost* etc. is hard to maintain so note that url may be different and some examples should be ok
