as we discussed the UX consequences that this change would have . :
* inconsistency with Add Application dialog
* general use of dialogs across UPS console

We have decided with [~hbons] and [~edewit] to use warning-icon as an indication of the wrong variant configuration.
Then, we could link from Dashboard to variants page and scroll the affected variant into the view, so user can fix the configuration.
