I'm sorry. it's correct. When you create a pipe from Pipeline, it's automatic append entity classe (or endpoint if you used PipeConfig.setEndpoing()) on baseURL and pass appended url to (internal) RestAdapater.
RestAdapater is a REST implemetation of pipe. It does not know how to create the URL. it just receive the URL (with append endpoint) and know how to make REST calls
