I don't even see a notification on the two mentioned states, using the Cordova bits:

  • when device is on its "lock screen"
  • when app is on but in the background

Howeverm using the pure native SDK (and the Xcode template for AppDelegate), I do get a notification (e.g. I see it on the lock screen, or I see a little alert/popup, when using a different app).

This is not happening when using the Cordova plugin
