David Martin / Wojciech Trocki - "'messaging' api in the Core SDK" - this sounds scarily like the mediator pattern fiasco from WFM. If we do this, we need to make sure we do not repeat the mistakes of the past. It has to be possible to trace / debug messages.

In the short term, I would favour explicit interfaces / method invocation (likely through Core) rather than building another messaging implementation...
