Paul Wright After looking into this further, for the UPS case I don't believe anything should be added to regular documentation. There are a couple of things that maybe could be highlighted as "known issues" in release notes though, if we have a section like that (since they're more like issues/bugs):
- Renewing a Variant Secret in the UPS web console will lead to the value in the mobile-services.json that MDC shows to be outdated (and there's currently no way to update it). If people do this, they will have to update their config for their app to the new valid value, rather than what's shown in MDC. In future we'll look to have MDC updated also, but it could be several minutes before it would be updated in the worst case (next sync interval).
- If a user "binds" Push to an app in the MDC, then two things will happen in UPS: first a "Push Application" will be created, and then their "variant" will be created as a child of that. The "Push Application" isn't really mentioned in the MDC, but in UPS they could add additional variants under it – these variants won't be represented in the mobile-config.json in the MDC.
For MSS, there's nothing that can be updated through its interface, so nothing could be inconsistent. |
