Randall Hauch commented on DNA-258:
-----------------------------------
It looks like a new project is starting in the Jackrabbit community's sandbox area to
build a CMIS implementation on top of the JCR API. It sounds like the goal is to produce
something that is not JR-specific but is instead able to run on top of any JCR
implementation. For the initial discussion on the JR mailing list, see
http://www.nabble.com/jcr-cmis-sandbox-td20609043.html
We should consider reusing such a component rather than inventing our own. At least for
now, as there are other higher priorities for us, we have the time to watch this sandbox
project to see how it proceeds.

implementation

Key: DNA-258

Project: DNA
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: Web Application
Environment: HTTP(S)
WS/SOAP
Reporter: Sergiy Litsenko
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Content_Management_Interoperability_Services
The Content Management Interoperability Services is an emerging standard and could be
useful addition to JCR way to access content repositories of any sort based on Web
Services.
EMC, IBM, Microsoft, Alfresco, Open Text, SAP and Oracle have joined forces to propose
CMIS, the first Web services technical specification for exchanging content with and
between Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems. It is already been supported by open
source community - Alfresco CMIS - is an example). Basically, it completes the picture of
the repository API - JCR, Atom Publishing Protocol, and WebDAV may work together to
satisfy any customer needs.
