I have never used Awestruct to create website, is possible to:

Yes, there are options to do this both on the server-side (when the website is compiled) or on the client-side using JavaScript widgets (like the +1 button).

- enable indexing of web site content for globally search?

Yes, you can use indextank to provide native search in the application. This has not yet been setup in Awestruct yet, but you can find a model in Jekyll (the project that inspired Awestruct).
