Since I am not in a proxy environment, we'll need you to debug it as an attempt to find the root cause. Can you do that for us? You need to debug the MavenContainer class (where the proxies are set) to confirm that it is really a bug.

after looking at it very quickly what we can easily implement is handling echo chars + backspace.
arrow navigation is another task altogether though. if you want something like this you would need to know the cursor position and make sure it do not go over any boundaries.

Yes. Proxy is configured in settings.xml (Maven) and MAVEN_HOME is also defined.
