Claus Ibsen commented on FORGE-440:
-----------------------------------
This is actually a really complain of users, they do not like when their xml structure is
totally changed.
When you update the pom.xml using forge, then it
- removes the comments
- removes all blank lines
Making the pom.xml really dense and harder to read.
In the fabric8 project we have a set of Camel commands that work on Camel XML files, and
we have a xml parser that remembers line start/end of the xml nodes, so we use that to
"try to only change" the xml at those lines when possible.
https://github.com/fabric8io/fabric8-forge/blob/master/addons/utils/src/m...
A pom.xml which contains comments loses all of them after Forge
operates on it.
