OK, I just noticed that I failed to unpack the JDK but just used the JRE.
After trying for half an hour to correctly extract the IBM JDK I decided to dump it :-(
I hate it, this is Java on Linux in the end. Can't they stop overdoing it...

following output is shown on the console:
