I do need help in describing the error. When my portlet crashes, the portlet header
remains the same, but content of a different portlet will be displayed within frame of old
portlet. The commandline output just shows initialization of old portlet's name, not
of the new one. The one exception I see results from missing VPN access (try to access SAP
system throught JCA). The different portlet is not actively integrated within application,
but is registered in portlet.xml file.
What could i do to provide a better suited description? Is there a sort of debug portlet I
could enable?

I try to dig some things but i can not reproduce. If a portlet crashes, it also is
displayed with error content such as "This portlet encountered an error and could not
be displayed"
Please give me your answers for question below:
- This bug always appear every when your VPN access stop working?
- If you remove your portlet declaration (that is not active) from portlet.xml, does this
bug appear?
- In your portlet, when you retrieve data from VPN access, after that you don't
process any thing, another portlet also appears if having crashes.

I want to confirm exactly problem is cause by GateIn, it is better if you can delete all
business in your portlets, only remain VPN acess processing and attached your portlets to
help us reproduce problem.

According to log, SapInterfacePortlet will be rendered after exceptions occured.
Portlet frame ist still the same, but content of ServiceEngineerPortlet will be displayed.
(bug_3.png) There is no log output for "ServiceEngineerPortlet"
After error occurs, everything is cached, even after log off, log in. I would need to
clean cache and cookies This behavior is reproducable every time.

OK, I got it now!
I disabled ServiceEngineerPortlet first, without success. This was quite strange cause the
portlet page was physically not available anymore and still being displayed. So I kept
searching and found the reason:
In home.xhtml i did use same content of ServiceEngineerPortlet for demo purposes. I did
not use this for quite a while now.

Actually, the configuration of global exception handling was the root cause. When
exception occurs, the redirect take place. For some reason the redirect happens within
current portlet, not at page level.
So, is this a bug in communication between GateIn and Seam or just misconfiguration of
Seam? Is it recommended to not use Seam global pages configuration as this is
responsibility of portal platform?
