The reason why you don't see the translation is that whatever tool you used decided to
add spaces around the '=' between key and value.
Also it added a \ in front of signs like : and $

Hi, the properties files I gave, are in a valid format.
The problem is that in exo there is a piece of code loading the properties files into the
database (webOS properties files ...) that doesn't use the java.util.Properties class
to load the files but some custom code. That's where a small fix is needed.

You are right, your files were valid against JavaEE spec.
The property files aren't filling the database anymore but looks like the files are
still incorrectly read.
I created a Jira for this issue, see: GTNPORTAL-543
If you want to look into it that would be great, one thing to check is that XML files
would be correctly read.
