I have done GSOC as a student like you the last year and I would say it is not necessary for us (as organizers) to see this - it is really necessary for core GSOC organizers to accept you from legal point of view - assuring them that you are really a student.

From our side, it is not _so much_ needed since we know that when you are accepted you are a student anyway.
