Doesn't the pinger send avail data to metrics?

I thought so, but I don't see it anywhere in here:

https://github.com/hawkular/hawkular/tree/master/modules/pinger/src/main/java/org/hawkular/component/pinger

Anyone know where the code is that shows the pinger sending avail data?
It is the avail_creator module in hawkular repo

https://github.com/hawkular/hawkular/pull/61

AvailPublisher.java

Is there any example code elsewhere (doesn't have to be the pinger) that sends avail data?

modules/avail_creator/src/main/java/org/hawkular/component/availcreator/AvailPublisher.java

Can someone point me to some code that stores availability data into
hawkular metrics via REST and/or bus?

The hawkular monitor agent is in a state where I can finally add this code
and get it to start storing avail data (its already doing metrics).

Once I get that done, I'm off to implement JMX/Jolokia metrics/avail
collection and storage.
