I have been working on introducing schema change management in Hawkular Metrics. The big challenge lies in how to support various upgrade scenarios. The work is being done in https://issues.jboss.org/browse/HWKMETRICS-361 and there is a lengthy comment that summarizes how we will handle upgrade scenarios. I wanted to share as this will hopefully be useful and applicable outside of metrics.
