Hello Hibernate Developers,<br><br>We are running DB2 8.1 on z/OS and are required to use sequences for our primary key generation strategy. The current dialects for DB2 OS/390 don&#39;t support sequences because previous version of DB2 on z/OS (390) didn&#39;t have sequences.
<br><br>this issue: <a href="http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-1984">http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-1984</a> has already been entered a while ago and this issue: 
<a href="http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-1754">http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/hibernate/browse/HHH-1754</a> although it is for iSeries works for us on DB2 8.1 on z/OS.<br><br>Is there any chance this dialect will be introduced in previous versions of hibernate? Maybe under the name DB2v8zOSDialect.
