The legacy Hibernate org.hibernate.Criteria API should be considered deprecated. See https://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/orm/5.1/userguide/html_single/Hibernate_User_Guide.html#appendix-legacy-criteria .

We are no longer actively doing work on this API, but if you provide a pull request with test case a fix, we may apply it in a future version. No promises though.
