I think they are because they haven't migrated, or because there are following a tutorial. I'm saying that based on the number of stackoverflow questions I get on Ehcache 2.

They should go to 3. It is faster, the API is nicer, it lowers the allocation rate. The only known performance drawback is when evicting from heap cache. So a saturated heap cache might be slower. We are aware of it and will work on it soon.
