Deepti Dawar, thanks much. However, we've had a lot of problems with developers contributing new Dialects, then later abandoning them. So, we currently have a handful that are completely stale and unmaintained. The core team definitely does not have the time or specific knowledge to keep them up to date.

In order for this to be considered, we'd need 2 things:

1.) A community need. Bluntly, will anyone use it? Any Hibernate users requesting it?
2.) Vertica's team & HP can commit to maintaining the dialect, long term.

Any thoughts on that?
