I think that the JIRA name should be rather 'Upgrade to Infinispan 8'. I want to also take some advantage of configuration templates in Infinispan 8, it's not just switching the version and removing some hacks that are around. However, I haven't figured out yet how to form the configuration (with default configuration vs. provided configuration with possibly missing info, and potential override of some parameters via properties in persistence.xml) in the most elegant and user friendly way (not breaking old configurations).
