Isn't there a JIRA for that one. We did advanced explorations right? Or maybe it was just some PR comments.
My gut feeling is that there is no trivial way to attach state to the Session and until then implementing this issue will not be easy (or would by accident).

I am personally fine with the TL approach for that specific problem.
