Yes, they do. The @ManyToMany requires a join table, which is where the FKs reside. In your case, the Entity1_Entity2 is the join table. Nevertheless, this mapping doesn't look like a real-life mapping anyway. You should provide one which actually makes sense in a project. Why would you want to duplicate the link between those two entities anyway?
