However, you made a conclusion: that the problem is in SessionImpl:

That is completely an inaccurate conclusion/hypothesis. A Jira issue is also a historical record that of the bug, what the problem was and how it was fixed. In 10 years people should not come here and incorrectly think that the problem was somewhere (SessionImpl) other than where it really was.
