What difference does it make in the end? You also can consider the proposed API as a way for referencing constraints. Whether it should be annotations or an API? Not sure, maybe both? I think though a more abstract way is needed than referencing each single constraint, otherwise one may be better of by just re-declaring the constraints manually.
