Have you tried using runtime class enhancement (via "hibernate.ejb.use_class_enhancer") instead of build time? It would be helpful for me to know if its possible to recreate the same failure when the same javassist code is reached at runtime. If it recreates with "hibernate.ejb.use_class_enhancer", I would like to add a Hibernate unit test for this failure to avoid future regressions (under Java 7).
