Sergey: I'm afraid we're not maintaining 4.x anymore, unless for exceptional cases. But since you contributed this yourself and seem to need it I'm inclined to think that it would be nice to backport it as a thank you.. please understand that the rest of the team might not want that though, as one key rule to keep older branches stable is to only backport very relevant bugfixes.
