Ah, one additional data point is that publishing to OSSRH requires to sign all deployed artifacts (might well be the same for BinTray of course, I don't know). That has notoriously been painful to set up for me (requires native gpg install), but I assume it's easier for you on Linux and probably Gradle also makes it a breeze Just something to keep in mind potentially.
